What readers say about the bookšŸ§

5 Widow WalksFor the most part I select which books I would like to review for the blog. I read the description and fill out a form requesting the book. Sometimes I get something good and sometimes I get something that I wish I never heard of. Then there are the times that I am blown away. When I first started reading Windward Secrets, I had no clue what the book was about. I knew that I must have seen something in the description to peak my interest, but I couldnā€™t remember. Yes, I could have looked it up, but I honestly prefer to let the story unwind and reveal itself as I read it. That is something coming from a person that writes review for books. As I started reading I thought oh, this is one of those college reunion books that have best friends sharing their deep dark secrets including who slept with whoā€™s boyfriend way back when. As I read further I became engrossed in this story that was not at all what I thought it was going to be. This was a good old crime mystery with really bad men, and four very brave, inquisitive, stupid women. Donā€™t get me wrong these women were really smart, but what they did was beyond insane. You can read the description above, you donā€™t need me to tell you what the story is about. I will tell you that this story was one of my favorite Mystery books of 2015. Claire and her three college friends with take you with them as they unravel clues surrounding the disappearance of Claireā€™s childhood friend many years ago, with the help of a being no longer alive.ARC Provided by Promotions By Stephanie. About the Author

Kathleen Andrews Davis

Kathleen Andrews Davis lives in the mountains of central Pennsylvania, USA, with her husband and a horde of white-tail deer who insist on annihilating any attempts at gardening. She and her husband are empty-nesters with two grown daughters and two beautiful grandchildren.

A late-comer to writing Davis decided to leave her grandchildren a legacy of words in her Emerson’s Attic series for middle-grade readers. The first book, Emersonā€™s Attic, The Blue Velvet, was written with an emphasis on family. Some of Davisā€™ own childhood memories are hidden in this book to be revealed to her grandchildren as they grow. The second, Smoke and Mirrors, takes readers on a 1905 circus train adventure. Quiet Heart, the third in the series is expected to be available in 2016.

Many readers have likened the Emersonā€™s Attic series to historical fiction because of the geography, vocabulary, and period objects Davis researches in depth. ā€œIā€™m a firm believer history is more interesting when told in story form,ā€ says Davis.

Windward Secrets, Davis’ first work of fiction for young adults and women is planned for release in the fall of 2015.

Davis admits there are not enough hours in the day, but when she gets free time she spends it reading, doing needlework, walking, snow skiing, and fly fishing. Gardening has fallen to minimal maintenance only, at least until the deer find better feeding grounds.
