I'll preface this review with my opinion that even though the Romance genre is not my usual fare, Joy Ross Davis never disappoints. "The Hit Man's Wife" is no exception. The author seamlessly weaves a mystery or two within this romantic thriller. The romantic backstory and the characters' past traumas are delivered via snippets of conversation and even a hypnotic trance. Jodie Marshall and Russell Morgan are the principal characters--star-crossed lovers who find a way... under extraordinary circumstances. Their first meeting is as creative as any you'll read. The love they develop for each other is both unexpected (under the circumstances) and well-defined as are the multiple characters. These are the sort of characters you'd like to meet and call friends. Character-driven tales are the best and the author does it very well. I highly recommend "The Hit Man's Wife" to everyone, especially lovers of the genre. Pick up your copy soon.
