Revolving around money and power, you are taken on a journey about financial pressures and blackmail.From the beginning, you are given a certain impression about the characters, especially the ones that cause impactful and unforgettable footprints. The background and foundation enabled the reader to connect, bond and essentially appreciate the story on a grander scale.The story is filled with a structured and foundation plotline; it then expands and exceeds expectations. The dynamic of the storyline also creates a certain play and game that is worth following. This kept me wanting to know what was happening next.I particularly enjoyed it when the twists and turns were not foreseeable. I have read so many books that nothing surprises me anymore, but this one caught me off guard. I appreciated the attention given to detail and how the penmanship allowed the reader to envision the scenes truly. This also displayed the strength and skill of the author.What stands out in this book is how the author vividly describes every scene. The added humor and conflicts make the work all the more enjoyable. As the story is set in New York, it allows you to fully divulge into the deep end of the financial side of things. You also get to move to other locations like London, adding more depth and enhancing the dynamic of the tale touching on places that signify the capital for finance.I recommend this book to financial thriller readers and those who enjoy action stories. About the Author
Jeffrey Marshall
effrey Marshall is a writer and retired journalist living in Scottsdale, AZ. He is the author of five books, including the novels “Squeeze Plays” (2022), “Undetected” (2019) and “Little Miss Sure Shot” (2014). He also wrote a business book on community reinvestment (1991) and a volume of collected poems, “River Ice” (2009). “Undetected” was named a “Notable 100” indie book by ShelfUnbound for 2020. “Squeeze Plays” was also named a Notable Indie in 2022 and received a Book Excellence Award for fiction in 2023.
Marshall grew up in Connecticut but spent most of his professional life working in New York and New Jersey (hey, don’t knock New Jersey!). The bulk of his career was spent in business journalism, and included chief editor posts at two national business magazines; he was also, at various times, a feature writer, columnist and book reviewer. He also freelanced widely for magazines and newspapers, appearing in The New York Times and New Jersey Monthly, among many others. Most of his writing now is on environmental subjects, and he serves on two national boards of Trout Unlimited, the coldwater conservation group, and formerly served on the board of a local land trust in the Phoenix area.
Marshall has a bachelor’s degree in history from Princeton and a master’s degree in journalism from Northwestern. Interests include tennis, golf, hiking, movies, finding new restaurants and travel. He’s stayed in or traveled through all 50 states – sometimes passing through was enough! He and his wife, Judy, have two rambunctious dogs, Maggie and Blaze.
