Book Summary

Searching for Serenity

I watched my partner’s life drain from her body into the next world. She had succumbed to COVID- 19. I follow the hearse to the graveyard in a limousine, observed by sympathetic neighbours discreetly peering through blinds. I alone would attend her funeral in these uncertain times.

Disillusioned, I returned to an empty house, remembering a book I’d written many years ago. I decided to take one last adventure from Long Marston to the Scottish Highlands to discover what I wanted out of life in my remaining years.

I set off on my modified electric bicycle, following the route I initially took many years ago, enjoying my own company until destiny decided otherwise. Life suddenly became strange; being involved in a murder and confronted by an ex-girlfriend’s daughter, determined to organise my life.

In conclusion, what transpires over the next few months can only be described as bizarre unless you are a Knights Templar in the Royal circle or a pirate!

What readers say about the book🧐

The book moves along steadily, and anyone who has travelled the areas described will easily picture in their mind. The story has ample intrigue. I enjoyed the unfolding adventure.

About the Author

Sylvester Roberts

Age is a myth. You’re as old as you feel. I take each day as it comes, usually starting to write a few pages in my next book. I enjoy theorising about the afterlife. Some people dismiss the subject as pure folly until you experience a brilliant white light while stepping from here into somewhere else; keep an open mind.

I enjoy riding my bicycle through the countryside while I work out the next scene in my book.

Sometimes we travel to Scotland and South Wales, where many of the ideas for my books originate.

I was born on a farm, then ventured into running my own business before taking early retirement to enjoy my passions. I don’t tend to write overly complicated stories or make someone run for a dictionary to understand what is written.

All royalties from my books go directly to the air ambulance.
