Hot Wheels

In the 2070s severe weather has become commonplace. Middle and lower class families are bearing the brunt of the Climate Crisis. Atop of a venerable skyscraper, the CEOs of a multinational cartel meet to decide the world’s economic fate. Their summit isn’t like the buy-sell cons addressed by popular media. Here you’ll witness the true aims of the rich and influential.

As a counterpoint, Jen Marov climbs the tower undetected and disrupts the meeting. She exits in a paraglider and flies to a rendezvous with JoAnna who waits beside a souped-up Humvee. Together they speed through to streets of Kuala Lumpur while being chased by dozens of SUVs and scores of security dudes.

Meanwhile in orbit, teenage Raven has her foot regrown in microgravity, whereas her adolescent partner undergoes training in the crèches.

Will earth and democracy survive the greed-induced threats to the environment and the cooperative masses?

What readers say about the book🧐

This is a fantastic book and absorbed me from the very first paragraph. This author has created a very recognisable world – it is set only fifty years in the future, on Earth – but he has managed to envisage every improvement or deterioration in the way we live. He looks at our present day tech and extrapolates the future from this. There is a wealth of detail and he includes a dictionary because the reader will not understand what the characters are referring to in their world. This is so easily done by simply clicking on the unfamiliar futuristic word which takes you straight to the dictionary. This book is thriller, yes - but it’s also science fiction. The host of characters are well-drawn and the different ways of living on this future earth incredibly well- imagined.

About the Author →

J. O. Quantaman

I live in Vancouver, BC, Canada. I drove a taxicab in the city for 27 years. I’m familiar with dealing with people, from crooks to celebrities. Before moving to Vancouver, I’ve traveled through nine of Canada’s ten Provinces. I’ve worked in factories, in crop fields, as a guide for sports fishers. I’ve attended three years of college and university.

___My hobbies are recreational mathematics and history, especially ancient history. I’m an avid hiker and cyclist. I read in the genres of historical fiction, science fiction, martial arts and police procedurals. Not surprisingly, I write in the same genres. My strongest concern is for ecological woes that humans are creating, so I write of a future where my characters must deal with an out-of-contrl climate, where extreme weather events have grown common.

___I’ve published three books of the Cool Assassins series: “Woke”, “Hot Wheels” & “Afterlife”. More are on the way. Get to know my likeable characters. You won’t regret it.
