American Carnage

Six members of the resistance, unknown to each other, tell six different stories about their fight against the second Trump administration. About the fight against the administration’s immigrant deportation policies and the public outcry following the killings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti at the hands of federal agents. And how they deal with the economic meltdown precipitated by the Trump economic policies and the surge in unemployment due to AI workforce reduction. Throw in another unnecessary war and the resulting turmoil to the world economy, and the carnage grows by the day. Identified by their motivation and actions in the resistance – the Idealist, the Agitator, the Pragmatist, the Organizer, the Leader, and the Assassin – each represents and embodies that part of the amorphous movement to which they all belong. Each character tells their story during the days leading up to the massive country-wide protests on the 4th of July 2026, that will define the history of the United States, and the history of our lives, for decades to come. American Carnage is at once provocative and insightful, and exactly the kind of novel the current administration wishes would die in the shadows.

About the Author →

D. Chris Lemme

I enjoy writing about people. Interesting people. Crazy, damaged, unusual people. Like you and me. In particular, I enjoy exploring relationships between men and women. Complex, complicated, messy relationships.

And I love writing dialog. Quirky, funny, alarming and sometimes disturbing dialog. Because that’s what crazy, damaged people say to each other. And of course they have sex – the pinnacle of the male-female relationship. And for the kinds of people about which I enjoy writing, their sexual relationships can be most revealing. For this reason I never shy away from depicting in excruciating detail the sex lives of my characters. That’s part of what makes them so interesting.

Praise for “Finding Bartholomew” –

“I think the author has an intellectually creative style, direct and thought provoking prose meant that I spent much of the book considering the fact that as we journey along our individual paths we are continually bumped off course by the ripples of everyone else’s wave.” – Books Laid Bare

Praise for “The Sex Therapist” –

“Lemme has a unique and fresh writing style that I found to be completely compelling.”

“Great erotic fiction that also values female empowerment… A more sophisticated erotic novel.”

Praise for “The Seekers”

“This is an incredibly entertaining read. You’ll be hooked from the moment you start reading it. The author is a master at his craft. Highly recommended!”

Praise for “The Gardens of Eden”

“An eco-thriller that is fast-paced, has deep and complex characters, and will really make you think about how all of us are being effected by climate change.”
