Book Summary
A Sun Going Down
Amidst talk of an uprising on a distant island, the young warrior Jonas Rowan encounters a deadly assassin within the great walls of Lawtone Castle itself.
If the warmonger referred to only in whisper as Kortahn believes even the tides of the Leonard Ocean are unable to keep him from claiming the throne, then the great kingdom must send her finest to extinguish his threat. Travelling alongside his fellow brothers of the blade, Rowan carries the burden of knowing he alone must also locate and judge Siersa, the pale bride of Kortahn himself.
In the name of the goddess, once wicked men will seek redemption whereas others desire nothing more than to see the most powerful of kingdoms burn. Fate will challenge all notions of love and honour as bargains are made far from the light of a burning fire. The lives of many will be decided by the conflict of two men, each willing to die for their ideals.
A SUN GOING DOWN captures the legend of heroes during their darkest hour.
What readers say about the bookš§
A Sun Going Down, by A.C. Aerie, is a fantasy set in a far away and distant island. Jonas Rowan, son of Daniel Rowan and commander of the Royal Guard, is confronted with an assassin, a murderer named Kortahn in the walls of Lawtone Palace. Kortahn believes he is a rightful heir to the throne. The encounter between the two characters makes Jonasās life a revolutionized one from then on since he is now entitled to bring his opponent to justice and locate and judge his pale bride for reasons I will not spoil. The book is colorful and descriptive, placing the reader right in the middle of every scene. The fact that it is written in the first person point of view further helps to bring readers into the thick of the action. Besides, Aerieās spirited dialogues between characters serve to make the storyline even more realistic.Adventure, suspense, and hope together give birth to this spectacular fiction which keeps readers alert at all timesāthinking about what is going to happen next and knowing it will be something totally unexpected. The plot kept me on my toes as I tried to guess before the characters what was going to happen and, oftentimes, I would realize I was going in the opposite direction. The action portrayed here is so explosive that it practically lights up the pages.I loved this little gem of a book because of the action-packed battles and high-stakes story. I certainly enjoyed it until its last word. A Sun Going Down, by A.C. Aerie, is a treat for fans of the fantasy genre and anyone who prefers stories similar to the plots within Game of Thrones. Totally recommended!
